Kristy & Cody

Sometimes things don't go as planned.

Kristy scheduled a session a couple of weeks ago for portraits of her and her son together. They arrived at the studio in the afternoon and we both had high hopes of little 4 year old Cody being in a good mood. Well Cody was not in a good mood and after an hour of trying everything I could think of to get Cody's attention it was looking like we would not get any nice portraits from the session. Sometimes kids just have off days, just like we grumpy grown-ups do. So not wanting Kristy to leave disappointed, I suggested that we try again in a couple of days, and that perhaps outdoors would be a better idea since Cody now seemed unnerved by all of the studio equipment.

We met 2 days later at Green Cove park, which was lovely. Cody was in the best mood and was the most amazing little model. I got dozens of terrific shots while Kristy and I let him play and discover all of the wonders of the park. Sometimes all you need, besides flexibility, is a nice sunny day and a place to play. This is my absolute favorite image from Kristy and Cody's session:
