As the holidays approach, life around the studio gets pretty hectic. Families need group pictures for their holiday cards, parents need Christmas pictures of the children, and the number of events climbs sharply. While the last few weeks have flown by at break-neck speed, I have loved every minute of it.
Last Saturday I had the pleasure of joining the Clay County Fire Department for a training burn. I was invited to photograph the event as they burned a two-story house to the ground. It was awesome. There were times when the heat was so intense that I could feel the hairs on my arms singing while I was shooting, but I never stopped! Today is all about the administrative work that doesn't get done often enough. I've updated the website, made about a dozen phone calls and added about another dozen things to my to-do list so far. Where can I find someone to mail my Christmas cards for me? I swear it will be New Years before I get them done.
